Indeed, who doesn't associate the word "Rosé'" to The Provence ? Rosé of Provence seems to be this convivial wine and It defenetly has all the qualities to be. It is the wine you drink between friends, in summer, around a barbecue, under pines and olive-tree, hearing the throbbing sound of cicadas. That is also the most produced wine in France.
But the Rosé of Provence has to be considered as a serious wine, a quality wine that can be drunk with specific dishes, enven though you can drink it alongside all meals. It's a sharp and nervous wine. Its acidity makes its refreshing and world-wide known qualities.
Did you know there are also mellow Rosé wines, that suits very well a Foie Gras or even a cheese?
Red wines of Provence suffer from Bordeaux and Bourgogne wines' shadow. Comparison of Bordeaux, Bourgogne and Provence is a mistake. Each Region has its own wines, and each wines should be appreciated for its intrinsic qualities, not compared to others. Those different qualities are made by the soil and the wines variety.
